It's the year 2012, the mayan year of the apocalyps. Scientist stand useless: the mayans where right. Earth will never be the same again: poles have shift, the northpole is where Spain should be now, the southpole on the other side.
Entire continents, under which Australia, and most parts of southern america, have been claimed by the ocean. Entire races have been whiped out, others have tried so desperately to adept, they've suffered hideous mutations. The altered magnetical field around the earth has caused it to take on an entire new course trough the solar system, not taking as mutch advantage of the sun's warming rays as it used to.

Former europe, already dubbed "the dusklands" by the remaining humans, has been turned into a black, cold, dayless wasteland. The humans here have taken on rapid mutation to adept to this new enviorment: a new race of humans formed. These Homo Luminous, Lunen, have been spotted rarely, but they have been described as small, pale humanoids, with completely black eyes, and luminous green 'spots' all over their body.

Among these creatures is Stijn "Fine" Tromp, one of the few Lunen that have come in touch with the old 'humans', but not in a peacefull manner: along with others of his race, he has been kidnapped by scientist to 'experiment'. Fine escaped these tortures, and instead of fleeing, made peacefull contact with a movement called "the earthchildren", who oppose the settled government, commonly just called 'the federation', supporting the thought of embracing the new human races that have mutated, instead of capturing them as animals. Since that day, he fought on their side, focusing on hacking into advanced systems, to save as many as he can of his race, and others who have been locked in the claws of the Federation, in unjustice.
